The Hall was built in 1924 to commemorate the sacrifice made by local residents in the First World War and to serve as a community focal point for the villages of Ballinger, South Heath, Potter Row and Pednor. Following the arrival of the Metropolitan Railway (later the London Underground 's Metropolitan line) in 1892, Great Missenden became a village where writers, entertainers and even prime ministers resided. Situated on Prestwood Common and owned by the Parish Council, the hall has one room available for a maximum of 100 people.
