The key aim is to provide a safe introduction to climbing, and helps to standardise the teaching and coaching of climbing in a structured manner whilst providing lots of fun NICAS Level 3 - Technical Climber A more advanced top-roping and bouldering award that focuses on developing technique and movement skills. By passing level 3 candidates will have met the standard equivalent to a pass at GCSE level. Technical Climber Level 3 focuses on developing technique and movement skills. Students receive a log book at Level 1 which records their progress through the levels with recognised certification upon completion of each level. Level 3 takes those skills and builds on them by exposing candidates to advanced techniques as well as exploring the history and ethics of climbing. NICAS is a nationally accredited scheme designed to show progression from a novice climbing safely under supervision at level 1, through to lead climbing and competing at level 5. Upon registering with us NICAS is a nationally recognised qualification and completion of Level 3 is equal to a pass grade at GCSE PE (Indoor Climbing) and it can also be used as the physical or skill section for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
